Terrell Braxton Greene

Terrell Braxton Greene,91, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home. Mr. Greene was born May 22, 1924 in Richmond County, a son of the late Arthur B. and Ethel Williams Greene. He had served his country in the US Army during World War II, was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Ledbetter Bible Class. He was the owner and operator of Greene's Garage until his retirement at age 62. He then went to work with INA Bearing in Cheraw until his retirement at age 86. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Pate and Alfred Greene. Surviving are his wife, Louise Halstead Greene of the home; children, Kay Crouch (Rex) of Rockingham, Barbara Tew (Jerry) of Rockingham, Don Gibbs of Columbia, SC, Marie Smith (Chris) of Florence, SC, Tommy Greene (Annie) of Ellerbe, Hilda Spivey of Rockingham, Becky Lindsay of Hope Mills, Don Greene (Cheryl) of Hamlet; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and brothers, Joe Greene of Rockingham, Arthur Greene of Ellerbe and Barney Greene of Albemarle. Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Mike Sykes officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
