Charles Ray Cox, 73, of Ellerbe, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hospice Haven. Charles was born March 7, 1943, a son of the late Lester and Aileen Frazier Cox. He was a welder by trade and was the founder and original owner of Cox Welding that is located in Ellerbe, NC. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Cox. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delores Cox, son Randy Cox (Sandra) of Hamlet, daughter, Sandra Cox Bowers (Mike) of Woodrun on Tillery, grand-sons, Keith Cagle (Rebecca), Ryan Cox, Caleb Cox (Elizabeth), grand-daughters, Rebecca Jacobs (Jeremiah), Victoria White, great grand-daughters, Riley Jo Cagle, Bristol Jacobs, Caiya Cox and brother Larry Cox (Babs) of Greensboro. Funeral service will be held at 5pm Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Billy Reynolds officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-5pm prior to the service at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice 1119 US Hwy 1 N.
