Shirley Haywood Bowles

Shirley Bowles Shirley Haywood Bowles, 92, of Ellerbe passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Manor Care. Shirley was born August 25, 1923 in Mt. Gilead, a daughter of the late Davis and Annie Lisk Haywood. She was a homemaker and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Bowles, son, William Davis Bowles, sisters, Annie Virginia H. Beale and Mary Evelyn H. Wiggins. Surviving are a son, Jimmy Bowles (Mary) of Ellerbe, grandson, Patrick Bowles of Raleigh, granddaughter, Stephanie B. Hough (Jay) of Southern Pines, great grandchildren, Courtney, Gracie and Jason Hough all of Southern Pines, daughter in law, Cathy Bowles of Ellerbe, sister Catherine H. Davidson of Burlington, special family friend, James “Duck” McLeod and devoted neighbor, Lynn Primm. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Elizabeth Polk and Rev. Donald Daniels officiating.
