Carl Jackson Riggan

Carl Jackson Riggan, 87, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Hamlet House in Hamlet. Mr. Riggan was born May 31, 1928 in Scotland County, the son of Macey Mark and Ruby Odom Riggan. He had served his country in the US Air Force, was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockingham and had retired from AT&T. He was a kind loving husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Snead Riggan and a grandson, Joseph B. McGuire, Jr. Surviving are his daughter, Lenae R. Thompson (Terry) of Rockingham; son, Jack Riggan (Marla) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Ashley and Meagan McGuire, Jodi Jones(Doug) and Jayme Parmakian (Joe) and 2 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Allison Farrah officiating. The family will see friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
