Jasper Junior Threadgill, 86, of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mr. Threadgill was born May 24, 1929 in Anson County, a son of the late Jasper Harmon and Viola Cathleen Brock Threadgill. He was a member of Joy Free Will Baptist Church, had worked with Pepsi Cola, retired from Burlington Industries and later worked with Lowe’s in Rockingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Viola Boring Threadgill and Ruth Lammonds Threadgill. Surviving are his sons, Richard Threadgill (Debbie) of Maryville, TN, Michael Threadgill (Georgia Kay) of Rockingham, Larry Threadgill of Rockingham; 8 grandchildren and sisters, Rachel Miles-Jackson of Mt. Croghan, SC, Patricia Adams of Hamlet, Joyce Bowman of Cheraw, SC, and Carol Brunzo of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at Joy Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. June Grant and Michael Threadgill officiating. Interment will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the Adams home, 129 Sycamore St., Hamlet, NC.
