William H. Deese

William H. Deese, 85, of 137 Virginia Ave. Rockingham, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Deese was born May 26, 1923, in Chesterfield Co., SC, a son of the late Henry Cleveland and Loretta Boone Deese. He had served his country in the US Army during World War II and was a member of West Rockingham United Methodist Church. For over 40 years he worked as a frontend Mechanic with Ford dealerships and retired from S & S Wheel Service. His wife Georgia U. Deese preceded him in death. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna Deese of Rockingham; grandchildren, Travis Deese, Heather Deese, and Brandon Deese and wife Courtney; great grandchildren, Ethan, Kylee and Chase Deese. Also surviving is a step brother, Ronnie Deese of Monroe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on Virginia Ave.
