Maxine Cole Allred

Maxine Cole Allred, 89, of Ellerbe, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mrs. Allred was born March 18, 1927 in Montgomery County, a daughter of the late Clyde Alexander Cole and Emma Haltom Cole Hutchinson. She was a longtime member of Concord United Methodist Church, where she had served as treasurer. She had been employed with Belk and Efrid’s Department Stores and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roger Allred, sisters, Verna Thomas, Hazel McIntyre, Irene Cole and brother Clyde Cole. Surviving are her children, James Roger Allred, Jr.(Brenda), David Cole Allred, Robert Kevin Allred, all of Ellerbe; grandson, James Ian Allred (Brandi) of Laurinburg and great grandsons, Barrett and Cooper Allred. A service to celebrate Mrs. Allred’s life will be at 2:30pm Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Dena White and Rev. Roger Paxton officiating. Interment will be held privately. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
