Mary McGee McDuffie

Mary McGee Chavis McDuffie, 90, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Pruitt Health in Rockingham. Mrs. McDuffie was born March 17, 1926 in Durham County, NC, a daughter of the late David and Addie Penfield McGee. She had retired from Aleo Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Nelson Chavis and Artis McDuffie. Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Chavis of Rockingham, Roger Chavis of Raeford; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; brother James McGee of DeKalb, Il and sister Myrtis Leviner of Rockingham. Graveside services will be at 2 pm Friday at Northam Cemetery with Rev. Joe Wilkes officiating. The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
