George Henry Maddry

Mr. George Henry Maddry, 86, of 203 Garrett St. Rockingham, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Maddry was born November 22, 1922 in Durham County, a son of the late Avel and Harley Williams Maddry. He had served his country in the US Army during World War II. He had retired from Seaboard Railroad, had been involved in real estate development and was a cattle farmer. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Moss Maddry of the home; son, John Maddry of Rutherfordton, NC; daughter, Elizabeth Mas of Rockingham and 2 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 5:00 PM Saturday at the Lilesville Cemetery with Rev. Donald Dawkins officiating. The family will see friends immediately following the service.
