Mary Ann Nicholson

Mary Nicholson Mary Ann Nicholson of Mt. Gilead, N.C. went home to be with her Lord on July 16, 2016, at the Sandy Ridge Memory Care Center in Candor, N.C. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late John McIver Nicholson and Blanche McIntyre Nicholson of Mt. Gilead. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Lionel Keith Nicholson and sister-in-law, Amelia Bridges Nicholson, of Chesterfield, Va. Mary Ann is survived by a brother, James McIver Nicholson and wife, Dot McFayden Nicholson, Ellerbe, nieces, Linda Nicholson Mabe (Carl), of Asheboro and Laurie Nicholson, of Blowing Rock, and a nephew, Terry Nicholson (Terri) of Narrows, Va. As owner and operator of The Friendly Beauty Shop in Mt. Gilead, Mary Ann served the community for over 60 years. She was a lifetime member of Concord United Methodist Church, Ellerbe. A private graveside service will be held at the Nicholson Family Cemetery.
