Alice Melton Richey

Mrs. Alice Melton Snead Richey, 76, of 136 Henry Snead Rd., Rockingham, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Memorial Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Richey was born September 25, 1932 in Lenoir County, NC , a daughter of the late Curtis and Louise Jones Melton. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was active in the women’s Bible study and the bereavement committee. She was the owner and operator of Alice's Beauty Shop for many years.Her husbands, Henry D. Snead, and James Richey and her son, Thomas Leslie Snead preceded her in death . Surviving are sons, Jerry Snead of Rockingham and Danny Snead of Florence, SC; brothers, Curtis Melton of Rockingham and Jimmy Melton of Hamlet; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday at Faith Baptist Chuch with Rev. Lester English officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 3:00 –3:45 PM Tuesday at the church.
