Thomas Peek

Mr. Thomas Victor ‘Sonny’ Peek, 76, of 237 Farmstead Court, Rockingham died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at First Health Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born August 16, 1932, a son of the late Emory and Beatrice Peek Mr. Peek was a graduate of the Alabama Christian College with a degree in Biblical Studies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, retiring with twenty years service and serving in the Special Forces in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Peek was retired with twenty years of service with the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Rockingham Church of Christ and served as an Elder, and formerly was a member of the Myrtle Beach Church of Christ and also served as an Elder Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, June 17th at Rockingham Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Surviving is his wife of fifty-eight years, Catherine Causey Peek of the home; children, Tommy Peek of Bear Creek; Randy Peek of Rockingham, and Robin Peek of Leesville, LA; sisters, Betty Jo Edwards and Shirley Thomas, both of Rockingham; a brother, James H. Peek of Rockingham; ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Mr. Peek was preceded in death by a brother, Conrad Peek.
