Bobby Ray Beach, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mr. Beach was born November 21, 1937 in Gaston County, NC, a son of the late Wayne Woodrow and Ruby Inez Williams Beach. He was a member of Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church and had served as a board member of Cordova Fire and Rescue. For over 25 years he and his wife Brenda, owned and operated Brenda’s Beach Bingo. Later he sold produce for many years on Long Dr and was known as “the Tomato Man”. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Brenda Joyce Poston Beach of the home; children, Bryan Beach (Christina) of Rockingham, Jody Harris (Bruce “Oscar” Hamlin) of Rockingham, B.J. Beach (Barbara) of Gastonia, Terry Beach (Pam) of Gastonia; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Eddie Beach of Kentucky and sisters, Jan McAbee of Gastonia and Waynette McClure of Fayetteville. A service to celebrate his life will be at 2 pm Sunday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Webster officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church and at other times at the home. Carter Funeral Home is assisting the Beach Family.
