Baxter McLendon McQueen

Baxter McLendon McQueen, 89, of McCall Rd., Ellerbe, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his home. Mr. McQueen was born November 20, 1919 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Carl and Beulah Jenkins McQueen. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a farmer. His wife, Edna Manship McQueen, brother, Bernie McQueen, and sisters, Margie Von Boserck, and Virginia Austin, preceded him in death. Surviving are his brothers, Rev. J.C. McQueen, Jr. of Eden, Rev. Richard McQueen of Charleston, SC, Tom McQueen of Ellerbe, Earl McQueen of Sanford, sisters, June Jamison of Missouri, Phyllis Greene of Ellerbe, Evelyn Burgess of Huntersville, Ruth Self of Harmony, Faye Davis of Concord, and Louise Bissette of Raleigh. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Ellerbe Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Lesly Holt officiating. Interment will be private. The family will see friends from 1:00 – 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
