Mary Hope Treece, 31, of Asheboro, formerly of Hamlet, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mary Hope was born May 15, 1985 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Jacob “Jake” Chalmers Treece, Jr. and Margie Maxine Grant Treece. She was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 2003 and Sandhills Community College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She continued her education by obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University and a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Winston Salem State University. She was currently pursuing her Master Degree in Nursing. She loved animals, the outdoors, traveling and cars. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin brothers, Michael John and Larry Wayne Treece; grandparents, Loyd and Eula Mae Robinson Grant and Jacob “Talley” and Mary Jones Treece. Surviving are her uncle, Rev. Lloyd “June” Grant, Jr ( Judith Ann) of Hamlet; cousin, Wendy Grant Caulder (Ronnie) of Hamlet and best friend, Jessica Dunn of Hamlet. Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Lloyd “June” Grant, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 9:45 to 10:45 am Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home of Rev. & Mrs. Grant.
