Roger Sikes

Roger Clark Sikes, 73, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mr. Sikes was born June 19, 1943 in Union County, a son of the late Percy D. Sikes and Dorothy “Dot” Helms Forbis. He had retired from Seaboard Railroad and was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene “Peachie” Dunn Sikes. Surviving are his children, Roger C. Sikes, Jr. (Tonya) of Pembroke, Pamela S. Turner (Donald) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Huey Rizzolo, Hunter Rizzolo, Jace Sikes, Luke Oxendine, Mark Oxendine; brothers, David Sykes and Kenneth Sykes and sisters Terri Blackwelder and Cathy Forbis, all of Monroe. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Jefferson Park Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
