William Lawrence Gainey

William Lawrence Gainey, age 74, of Rockingham, North Carolina went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. Lawrence was born on January 9, 1942 in Rockingham, North Carolina to William and Anna Bell Gainey. He was a lifelong hunter, fisherman and felt blessed to live in Richmond County. He is survived by his wife, Brenda T. Gainey; one son, Billy Gainey (Megan) of Huntersville, NC; one daughter, Sherri Gainey Skipper (Chad) of Wilmington, NC; one stepson, Rick Martin (Michelle) of Tehchapi, Ca; five grandchildren; one sister, Angela Gainey Long; one brother, Craig (Choo-Choo) Gainey both of Rockingham, NC. Predeceased by his brother, Larry Gainey, and two sisters, Carol Ann Gainey and Brenda Gainey Beck. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, September 25 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Friends and family visitation will be at 2pm with Interment in Richmond County Memorial Park.
