Betsy Haines

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Haines, 63, of Raleigh died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She was born February 7, 1943 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Martha Ledbetter Haines Blakeney and Dr. Hilton D. Haines. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 21st at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Keith Nanney and Rev. Leonard Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Surviving are two sisters, Claire H. Alexander and husband Edward and Hannah H. Stephens and husband Mark, all of Raleigh; and three brothers, James L. Haines and wife Paula and Hilton D. Haines, Jr. and wife Glenda, all of Rockingham and Robert L. S. Haines and wife Janice of Hamlet. Mrs. Haines was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gamble. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 8 pm in the Haines home at 612 Fayetteville Rd., Rockingham.
