Hilda French

Mrs. Hilda Gainey French, 62, of 188 Tiny Lane, Rockingham died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham. Mrs. French was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham and was a licensed real estate sales agent for thirty-five years. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, July 15th at First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham with Rev. Dwight Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Northam cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:45 am to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church. Surviving is her husband, Warren French of the home; two stepsons, Warren French III of Drexel, NC and Tracey Lee French of Columbus, OH; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis Ford and husband James and Sherry Nichols and husband Travis, all of Rockingham; two brothers, Dewey Gainey and wife Carole Ann of Charlotte and Carol Gainey and wife Wanda of Rockingham; brother in law, Pat French and wife Robin; sister in law, Jeanie Darnell and husband Tom; nieces and nephews, Tommy Darnell, Timmy Darnell, Shane French, Karen Gardner, Nicole Gainey, Leslee Greene, Craig Stewart, Christopher Stewart, Michelle Gardner, Vernon Ford, and Alden Ford; sixteen great nieces and nephews; and one great great niece. Mrs. French was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Gainey, her mother, Tiny Mary Gainey Taylor, and stepfather, Lloyd Taylor.
