William "Bill" Thomas Hamer

William Thomas “Bill” Hamer, 91, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mr. Hamer was born August 29, 1925 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Wall and Sadie Loy Hamer. He was graduate of Wake Forest College and had retired as accountant for Indian Head Manufacturing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta “Robbie” Dowd Hamer and his son, Ronald Loy Hamer. Surviving are nieces and nephews, including his special niece and caregiver, Brittany Minor. A graveside service will be at 2pm Saturday at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Ken Griswold officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
