Jamie Evans Cottingham

Jamie Evans Cottingham, 47, of Rockingham, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mr. Cottingham was born November 4, 1961 in Richmond County, a son of Julia Evans Cottingham and the late Jack Cottingham. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1980, a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and had been a technician with Omnova Solutions in Monroe. Surviving are his daughters, Amanda Martin of Cordova, Aimee Cottingham and Jill Cottingham, both of West Virginia; mother, Julia Cottingham of Rockingham; and brother Jack Cottingham, Jr. of Hamlet. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Revs. Wayne Tuttle, Corey Wilson and Ernie Walters officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:45 – 10:45 AM Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at Jack’s home, 539 Springhill Church Rd. Hamlet.
