With a smile that lit up everyone around her, Betty Heath Ingram, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, departed this world to be with her Father in Heaven on Friday, November 11, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert J., her children, Thomas and Patricia, daughter-in-law, Katherine, and her grandchildren, Ashton, Kirk, Kaitlin and Daniel. She is the daughter of previously departed Mary and Marshall Heath and sister to Johnsie, Lois and Robert. Born in Forsyth County, Betty lived the majority of her life in Rockingham. A faithful attendant of Pee Dee and Zion United Methodist Churches, her belief in God kept her strong. She was a lover of music, travel and dance, being an avid square dancer for many years. Full of love and life, her home was open to any who entered, usually with a slice of cake and a glass of sweet tea. Her absence will leave a void that can never be filled. Visitation will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:45 on to 2:45 pm with funeral service following at 3 pm in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham, with graveside service to follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Richmond County Hospice and/or Zion United Methodist Church. At this time, the family would like to thank the Hospice staff, especially nurses, Natalie, Michelle and Sylvia for their love and kindness, as well as Dr. Strobel for the care he has shown to her and the family.
