Doran Dyer McCormick

Doran Dyer McCormick, 84, of Wallace, SC, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. McCormick was born April 25, 1932 in Richmond County, a son of the late William and Laura Jane Talbert McCormick. He had served his country in the US Army and was a member of White Creek Baptist Church in Wallace. He had worked with Clark Equipment, Ledbetter Mill and DeWitt Trucking Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Peggy Webb and Lucille Faircloth and brothers, Marion, Herbert, Bill and Frank. Surviving are his children, Kenneth McCormick, Brad McCormick, Sandra McCormick, all of Ellerbe, Bobby McCormick of Rockingham; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Johnny, Joe, Jerry, Robert and Max McCormick and sisters, Agnes Whittington and Louise Lucas. Funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Pastor Ricky Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at Kenneth’s, 639 Sandy Ridge Church Rd, Ellerbe.
