William James Norton

William James Norton, 79 of Charlotte, formerly of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was preceded in death by a son David and a granddaughter, Mary. Survivors are: son William James “Bill” Norton, Jr. and a daughter Susan Melinda Porter; his children’s mother, Michie Ann Chavis, daughters-in-law, Clara Norton and Linda Norton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Northam Cemetery in Rockingham.
