Anita Richardson Shepard

Anita Richardson Shepard, 40, of Ellerbe, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016. Anita was born January 12, 1976 in Richmond County, a daughter of Donald A. and Sandra Spivey Richardson. She was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1994, and UNC-Pembroke. She had taught at Ellerbe Middle & Jr. High School, Mineral Springs Elementary School, Roberdel Children’s Center and Cordova School. While at Ellerbe Jr. High, she was the girl’s volleyball coach. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was currently working with UPS. Surviving are her daughters, McKenzie Lane Shepard and Jordan Gray Shepard, both of the home; parents, Donnie and Sandra Richardson of Ellerbe; sisters, Karen Wilson (Bryan) of Derby and Erin Richardson of Greensboro, paternal grandmother, Gladys Richardson of Ellerbe and nephew Chase Wilson of Derby. Funeral services will be at 2pm Tuesday at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 5 to 8 pm Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at her parent’s home. Memorials may be made to the Cordova School.
