Rachel Williams Collins

Rachel Rosanna Williams Collins, 90, of Rockingham, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Rachel was born on May 30, 1926 in Mt. Croghan, SC a daughter of the late Jesse and Fannie Knox Williams. She was a retired spinner with Safie Mill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Collins. Surviving are: sons, Jesse Collins, Johnny Collins and wife Tiny, Jimmie Collins and wife Daffy; daughters, Mattie Wright and husband Coy, Mary(Rat) Dixon, Brenda Overton and husband Bruce; fifteen grandkids, twenty-seven great grandkids and four great-great grandkids. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 – 8 pm at the church.
