Lucille Clark Edwards

Lucille Clark Edwards, 94, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Christine Maree. Mrs. Edwards was born August 27, 1922 in Cheraw, SC, a daughter of the late Elmore and Addie Mae Rainwater Clark. She had retired from Beaunit Mills in Rockingham after 47 years of service and was active in the East Rockingham Red Hats Society. She was a very christian lady who attended Shining Light Free Will Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, traveling and her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Edwards, son Leonard Edwards, sisters, Virginia White and Mae Keane and a brother Son Clark. Surviving are her daughter, Christine Maree (Allen) of Rockingham; daughter in law, Edith Edwards of Indiana; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr and Rev. Chris Thornton officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the Maree Home.
