David Thomas McCuiston

David Thomas McCuiston, 62, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Hospice Haven. Mr. McCuiston was born November 10, 1954 in Richmond County, a son of the late John H. and Maxine Jenkins McCuiston. He started his young working career at Richmond County Ambulance Service where some of his fondest memories were made. He then worked for CSX Railroad for a number of years and then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps as a commercial roofer until his failing health in 2009. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Brigman. Surviving are his son, John David McCuiston; grandsons, Christian and Cason McCuiston; brothers, Mark McCuiston (Kim), Johnny McCuiston; sisters, Gayle Brigman Freeman, Linda McCuiston Henslee: sister-in-law, Sylvia Brigman and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the Freeman home, 189 Old Ellerbe Road. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospitals.
