Bertha Morgan

Bertha Morgan passed away, February 15th at the home of her son, Rodney Morgan. Bertha was the daughter of John Alfred Cox and Bertha Lee Ora Jarrell Cox. Bertha was married to Claude Morgan, Sr. who proceeded her in death. She was also proceeded in death by her brother, Harold Cox and sister Evelyn Cox Goodwin. Survivors include her three sons, Claude Morgan, Jr. and wife Elaine Smith Morgan of Wilmington, James Morgan and wife Levonda Funderburk Morgan of Salisbury, and Rodney Morgan and Pam of Rockingham. Bertha also had six grandchildren; Christina Lane Morgan, deceased, Tracy Dawn Morgan Benton and husband Kris of Wilmington, Virginia Mae Morgan Jackson and husband Robert, of Salisbury, Mary Ann Morgan Spolarich and husband Brooks of Mooresville, David Marc Morgan of Salisbury and Sarah Beth Morgan of Salisbury. Bertha also had three great grandchildren; Tyler Benton, Will and Lily Jackson. The family wishes to extend appreciation to her caregivers, which allowed Bertha to remain at home. Caregivers include Stanley Cottingham, Tracy Gibson, Robert and Abby Humphries, Chasity Sorrell and Betty Harris. The family will receive visitors at Carter Funeral Home, Saturday, February 18th, from 6-8 pm. The funeral services will be held at Community Church on Mill Road, Sunday, February 19th, at 3pm with interment held at Northam Cemetery.
