Sara Catherine Benoist Chabot

Sara Catherine Benoist Chabot, 69, of Rockingham, entered her Heavenly Home Saturday, February 18, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Sara was born August 14, 1947 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Clyde and Nancy Watts Benoist. She had worked in textiles, as a hairdresser and was also a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Grady, Bill, Bobby, Ronnie, Jessie, Curtis, Thomas and Don Benoist. Surviving are her children, Herby Chabot, Jr. (Samantha), Brian Chabot (Tanda), all of Hoffman; six grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Benoist, Kenny Benoist, both of Rockingham; sister, Helen Lampley of Rockingham; several nieces and nephews; many friends and her little companion Buffie. Funeral services will be at 2pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
