Michael Jerome Benoist

Michael Jerome Benoist, 53, of Rockingham, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Benoist was born June 1, 1963 in Cumberland County, a son of Christine Edwards Benoist Maree and the late James Clayton Benoist. He attended Abundant Life Church and had worked as a machinist Surviving are his wife, Sheryl Pope Benoist of Indianapolis, IN; children, Jamie and Nicole Benoist, both of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Alexis Benoist; mother and step-father, Christine Edwards and Allen Maree of Rockingham and sister, Tina Medlin (Danny) of Charlotte. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Sunday in the Mausoleum of Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends following the service and at other times at the Maree home.
