Mary Margaret Herring Taylor

Mary Margaret Herring Taylor, 88, of Bennettsville, SC, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Mrs. Taylor was born July 3, 1928 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late Sandy and Annie Caulder Herring. She had worked with Nick’s Drive-In, loved flowers, sewing, crocheting and find-a-word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Taylor; sister, Goletia Kincer and brothers, R.L., Grant and Major Herring. Surviving are her daughters, Sandy Wilkes (Joe, Jr.) of Bennettsville, Brenda Lofton of Clio, SC; grandchildren Kathe L. Monk (Dupree), Richard Lofton, Joe Wilkes, III (Candi) Jamie Wilkes; great grandchildren Tiara D Disroe (Christian), Terrence Davis, Noah Wilkes, Trenton Cox, Kelsie Cox and 4 great great grandchildren, Christian, Aaliyah, Kaiden and Royal Disroe. Graveside services will be at 11 am Monday at Sunset Memorial Park in Bennettsville with Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr. officiating. The family will see friends from 9:15 to 10:15 am Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at her home.
