Kay Roberts Smith

Kay Smith Mrs. Kay Roberts Smith of Rockingham went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Kay was well known and loved in the community through her years of service with Belk’s in Rockingham She was born in Scotland County September 11, 1941 a daughter of the late Lawrence Leo and Evelyn Leviner Roberts. She was preceded in death by one brother Larry Roberts, of Sunset Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Cordova United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hines and Rev. Al Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband Boyce “Fuzz” Smith, one son Franklin Smith and wife Linda of Rockingham, one daughter Pam Meacham and husband Greg of Ellerbe. One brother Jimmy Roberts and wife Vivian, and one sister Jo Ann Spivey and husband Ricky. Grandchildren Delaney Smith, River Meacham, Natalie Meacham, Sarah Meacham, and Drew Meacham. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorial may be made to Cordova United Methodist Church P.O.
