William Brice “Bill” Litton, CPO, USN RET, 75 of Rockingham, surrounded by his family, passed away Monday May 29, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Bill was born March 4, 1942 in Winthrop, MA, a son of the late Brice Emerson and Eleanor Anna Sawbridge Litton. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served his country in the United States Navy for over 21 years. Following his retirement from the US Navy, he owned the Riverbridge Lounge, worked at the Moose Lodge and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sayah. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Barbara Ann McDonald Litton; daughters, Sherry (Doug) Roberts, Tammy (Mike) Birky, Rhonda (Troy) Bailey; grandchildren, Daniel (Melanie) Sewell, SSG Cameron (Angel) Sewell, Morgan Birky, Lia Waite, Joshua Birky, Troy “TJ” Bailey, Jr; great grandchildren, Simon, Cody, Autumn, Gabriella, Kaiden; brothers Jim Litton, Francis “T. Tom” Litton, David Litton and sister, Penny Perkins. Funeral services will be at 3 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Wayne Richardson officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:45 to 2:45 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
