Virginia (Ginny) Moore, native of Richmond County, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill of natural causes after a short illness. Ginny had the gifts of art, hospitality, compassion, empathy and gab. Ginny was a life-long lover of God, babies, the arts, Pepsi, reading, beach music, her family and continuous conversation. Over the years Ginny used her natural gifts to bring joy to countless people through decorating cakes, writing letters, taking photos, giving hugs, nurturing babies, cooking the beans, caring for the hurting, and offering a compassionate ear. Ginny was born on May 26, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Pearl Bratton. She is survived by her husband James (Jimmie) Moore whom she was married to for 53 years, her daughter Pam Wildes and husband Alan, her daughter Kamara Carpenter and husband Scott, and grandchildren Jackson Wildes, Haley Carpenter, Alex Carpenter and Anabelle Wildes. Visitation will be Friday, June 16 from 6 – 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 17 at 3 pm at East Rockingham United Methodist Church.
