Louise Halstead "Memaw" Greene

Louise Halstead “Memaw” Greene, 88, of Rockingham, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Greene was born November 2, 1928 in Portsmouth, VA a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Elizabeth Halstead. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham. She also served as the secretary and treasurer for The Merry Makers. She was preceded in death by her husband T.B. Greene and brother Leroy Halstead. Surviving are her children; Kay Greene Crouch (Rex), Barbara Gibbs Tew (Jerry) both of Rockingham and Don Gibbs (Kaye) of Columbia, SC grandchildren; Shannon Graves Coward, Heather Crouch Parsons (Joe), Rex Crouch, Jr. (Jill), Daniel Crouch, Melody Lindsey (Brad) and Dony Gibbs of Columbia, SC, great grandchildren; Braxton, Madason, Annason Harrison Coward, Lil’ Joe, Kaylan, Jackson, Kenley Parsons, Taylor, Alley and Maverick Crouch all of Rockingham, Will Lindsey and Brinleigh Gibbs of Columbia, SC. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel will Rev. Gene Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Ellerbe Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7pm at Carter Funeral Home and other times at the Home.
