Benny Pond

Mr. Benjamin E. ‘Benny’ Pond, 63, of 118 Pond Brothers Rd., Hamlet died Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born October 23, 1945 in Richmond County, a son of the late Espie and Gladys Gibson Pond. Mr. Pond was a member of Outreach for Jesus and had been employed for thirty eight years as a Lab Supervisor with Delta Finishing in Wallace, SC. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Outreach for Jesus with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are his wife of forty two years, Judy Sargent Pond of the home; a daughter, Lori Franklin and husband Steve; a son, Benjamin Daniel ‘Danny’ Pond and wife Kelli; four grandchildren, Leanne Franklin, Joshua Franklin, Steve Franklin, Jr., Meghin Pond and Cayla Pond; two brothers, Vernon Pond and wife Mattie and Francis Pond; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Pond was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Pond, Sr. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Outreach for Jesus.
