Glenn A. Boling, 77, of Rockingham, went home to his heavenly father to fish at the best fishing pond in heaven. He left this world Friday evening after walking into his home and noticing that his companion Elaine Shelton, of 18 years and niece, Maria Pieger had thrown his beloved couch out! He left behind his wild raccoons and a lot of useless treasure that Elaine has to clean up. Preceeding him in death are his father, Colon Boling, mother, Inez Hogan Goodwin, and brother Duran "Tootie" Boling. He is survived by his companion Elaine Shelton and sisters Jeanine Brinkley, Kathy Gilliam, and Luann McPhatter and any other extended family, but Glenn was to frugal for us to name them all. Praise the lord he didn't miss the boat! The family will receive friends at Carter Funeral Home on Monday evening September 18th from 6-8pm. At other times at the home of Elaine Shelton. Funeral Services will be Tuesday September 19th at 2pm at Zion United Methodist Church in Rockingham. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church.
