Audrey Smith Morgan

Audrey Smith Morgan, 80, of 1376 Millstone Road, Ellerbe, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Morgan was born October 27, 1928 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Carrie Cleveland Caudle Smith. She was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1945, a homemaker and a farmer. Her husband, William Howard Morgan and a son, John William Morgan, preceded her in death. Surviving are sons, Lee Morgan of Laurinburg, Jerry Morgan of Rockingham, Sam Morgan of Ellerbe, Ralph Morgan of Orangeburg, SC, Calvin Morgan of the home; daughters, Linda Gardner of San Luis Obispo, CA, Nancy Carter of West End, Mary Morgan of Rockingham; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Watson of Ellerbe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Rourk Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Rourk Presbyterian Church, Cemetery Fund or to Ellerbe Rescue Squad.
