Allie Raines

Mrs. Allie Raines, 86, of Ellerbe died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet. Mrs. Raines was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and prior to that, had been a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was successful in sales with Avon for many years. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday, December 28, 2009 in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Leon Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at 1089 Grassy Island Rd., Ellerbe. Surviving is a daughter, Glenda Meacham and husband Butch of Ellerbe; two sons, Darrell Raines and wife Nancy of Rockingham and Devaughn Raines of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Devin Raines and Jeff Meacham (Mary Anne), both of Rockingham, and Greg Meacham (Pam) of Ellerbe; and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Raines was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Raines in 1980. Memorials may be made to Mt.
