Deborah Sue Gardner

Deborah Sue “ Susie” Gardner, 44, of 147 Poole Road, Rockingham, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Ms. Gardner was born March 5, 1965 in Moore County, a daughter of the late James and Loretta Spivey Gardner. She was a member of Norman Church of God of Prophecy and had previously been employed in textile manufacturing. Surviving are her daughter, Brooke English of the home; brother, Max Gardner of Ellerbe; sisters, Betty Sullivan and Cathy McLean both of Rockingham; and former husband, Steve English of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at Rourk Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe with Rev. John Stone and Rev. Cynthia Whitley officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM Friday in Rourk Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will see friends following the service Thursday night at the church and at other times at Max Gardner’s home, 292 Gibson Nursery Rd., Ellerbe, NC 28338.
