Thomas Grady McLean

Mr. Thomas Grady McLean, 78, of 1125 Richmond Rd., Rockingham died Thursday, July 11, 2006 at Britthaven of Hamlet. He was born December 22, 1927 in Richmond County, a son of the late Nannie Elizabeth Liles and John W. McLean, Sr. Mr. McLean was employed with Hannah Pickett and J. P. Stevens Mill, prior to his retirement. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Friday, July 14th in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial chapel with Rev. Randy Brooks and Rev. Frank McQuage officiating. Interment will follow in McDonald Baptist Church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Elma Rushing McLean; two daughters, Cynthia Keziah and husband Doc of Cordova and Peggy Burks and husband Johnny of Aberdeen; a sister, Mary Ellen Saunders of Rockingham; four brothers, John W. McLean, Jr of Laurel Hill, Eugene McLean of Rockingham, Earl McLean of Monroe, and James McLean of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Cristy Tew of Aberdeen, Stacie Stewart of Rockingham, and Wendi Baker of Thomasville; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mr. McLean was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Catherine McLean. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at 872 McDonald Church Rd.
