Kaye Young

Kaye Meacham Young of 1290 Grassy Island Road, Ellerbe, passed away Monday, August 14, 2006 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. Kaye was born September 9, 1950 in Richmond County, a daughter of Ralph Meacham and the late Maxine Wilson Meacham. Kaye was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, but also attended Southwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a graduate of Ellerbe High School Class of 1968, a charter member of the Sandhills Shag Club, and was the former owner of Kaye’s Hair Fashions in Rockingham. Surviving are her husband of thirty three years, Ronald Young of the home; a daughter, Donna Baucom of Ellerbe; her father, Ralph Meacham of Rockingham; a brother, Chuck Meacham of Milford, NJ; two sisters, Kellie Benson of Rockingham and LuAnne Tripp of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Gage and Spencer Burdick, Leanne Young, Heather Wyatt, Cameron and Miranda Baucom; and nieces, Maxie Poole and Rebecca Meacham. Also surviving are her stepsons, Chris Young of Ellerbe and David Young of Italy. A service to celebrate Kaye’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 17th at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Donald Daniel and Rev. Randy Guerry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the church and at other times at the home on Grassy Island Rd.
