Jerome McIntosh Gardner

Mr. Jerome McIntosh Gardner, 83, of Marston passed away at First Health Moore Regional Hospital on Sunday April 4, 2010. He was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Richmond County, a son of the late William Henry Gardner and Martha Jane Snead Gardner. Jerome was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was retired from Time Warner Cable. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by five brothers, Danny Gardner, Letha Gardner, Jesse Gardner, William Gardner, and Vernon Gardner, and one sister, Margaret Gardner Diggs and a great grand daughter, Isabelle Gardner. Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Jeanette Wilson Gardner of the home; a son, Jerry D. Gardner, Sr. and wife Billie Jo of Ellerbe; two grandsons, Jerry Dale Gardner, Jr. (Dale) and wife Amy, and Billy Jerome Gardner (BJ) and wife Courtney, all of Rockingham; four great grandchildren, McKinnley Rae Gardner of Ellerbe, Zachary Dale Gardner, Courtney Brooke Turner, and Carly Paige Gardner, all of Rockingham; a brother, Harold Gardner and wife Faye of Wheaton, IL and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
