Chuck Meacham

Mr. Charles F. ‘Chuck’ Meacham, Jr. , 56, of 205 Everett Street, Rockingham died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born May 16, 1953 in Moore County, the son of the late Charles F. and Peggy McNair Meacham. Chuck attended Camden Military Academy and Rockingham High School. He was retired from CSX Railroad. He was very fun loving and everyone liked hearing his stories. Chuck was so tender hearted, loved animals, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed history, planes, and military memorabilia. Above all, he was really proud of his wife, children, and granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Mike Sykes and Rev. Allison Coltrane Farrah officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Surviving is his wife, Joan Dyson Meacham of the home; children, Amy M. Taylor and husband Shawn, and Melanie Meacham, all of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Charlie Meacham, III of Rockingham; a grand daughter, Sloan Taylor; a sister, Marianne M. Crawford and husband Jim of Cheraw; a niece, Cameron Crawford and a nephew, Jim Crawford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church and other times at the home.
