Augustine Cole

Mrs. Augustine Orr Cole, 87, formerly of Fayetteville Road, Rockingham died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Rockingham Manor. She was born March 23, 1923 in Great Falls, SC, a daughter of the late John Orr and Hattie Belle Thompson Orr. Mrs. Cole was retired from the textile industry. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, May 8, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Pastor David Sealy officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are children, Carole Cole Bachmann and husband John of Switzerland, Robin Cole Blacker and husband David of Charlotte, and John Cole of Hamlet; three grandchildren, Laura Brown and husband David, Elizabeth Hancock, and Ben Cole; one great grandson, Carter Brown; and a sister, Vera Wilson and husband Levon of Hamlet. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Cole, Sr. and a son, Ernie Cole. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
