Lewis Kelly, Jr.

Mr. Lewis E. Kelly, Jr., 63, of Charleston, SC and formerly of Rockingham left us Sunday, June 6, 2010 . He was born June 15, 1946 in Rockingham, a son of Ethel Bullard Peele and the late Lewis E. Kelly, Sr. Mr. Kelly was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and beloved father of two daughters, Amanda Kelly Carlisle of Goose Creek, SC and Emily Kelly Kingston and husband Kevin of Rockingham. He was the devoted grandfather of four grandchildren, Robin Capps, Jeremy Capps, Bethany Carlisle, and Claire Kingston; and loving brother of Mike E. Kelly and wife Jenny of Rockingham. Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Kelly, Sr. and a brother, Roger L. Kelly. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 pm Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Shining Light Free Will Baptist Church with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at 1707 Pine St., Rockingham. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate any memorial contributions be made to Amanda K. Carlisle, 204 Thousand Oaks Cir., Goose Creek, SC 29445 to be distributed to Mr. Kelly’s favorite charities. Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham is assisting.
