Hazel Smith Altman

Hazel S. Altman Hazel Smith Altman, 83, of 3408 Running River Dr. Fayetteville, NC died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Mrs. Altman was born December 11, 1922 in Richmond County a daughter of the late Mack D. and Lula Mae Johnson Smith. She had retired from the commissary at Fort Bragg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton E. Altman and a son Thomas W. Altman. Surviving are her sons, Alton E. Altman, Jr. of Autryville, NC, Michael E. Altman of Raleigh, a brother, Mack D. Smith, Jr. of Rockingham, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Rockingham with Wesley Williams officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will see friends following the service at the funeral home.
