Rev. Rodney Dale Haywood

Rev. Rodney Dale Haywood, 41, of 161 Puckett Rd., Ellerbe died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. He was born November 28, 1968 in Moore Co., son of Lucy Hamilton Hall and the late Roger Dale Haywood. Rev. Haywood was the pastor of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church and, also, employed with the N. C. State Research Farm in Norman. He graduated from Big Oak Christian Academy. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Sunday, June 27, 2010 in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Wayne Richardson officiating. Interment will follow on the Haywood farm. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Surviving are his wife, Lisa McCormick Haywood; his mother, Lucy Hall and husband Norman Lins Hall, Jr. of Norman; stepson, Travis Heavner of Rockingham; a sister, Cindi Murray and husband Ron of Goldsboro; nieces and nephew, Morgan Murray, Kelsey Murray, Ron Murray, III, and Samantha Murray; grandfather, C.B. Haywood and family of Norman, and was godfather to Jessica and Justin Primm. Rev. Haywood was preceded in death by a sister, Ramona Lynn Haywood and a stepson, Micheal Heavner.
