Joyce Bogan Orr

Joyce Bogan Orr 81, of 724 Sycamore Lane, Rockingham, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Orr was born September 15, 1928 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Claude and Sadie Solomon Bogan. She was a member of Community Church and had retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. Her husband, Otis Olen Orr and a son Michael Orr preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Mitchell Orr of Rockingham; daughters, Sherry Ratliff ( Ronnie) of Senoia, GA, Tammie Orr ( Linda) of Sanford; sister Isabelle Bogan Willard ( Gene) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Carrie Herstine, Nicole Sheetz, Jeniffer Wolfe, Michael Kevin Orr, Marcie Gibson; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday at Community Church with Rev. Robbie Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Sycamore Lane.
